All research and educational buildings of the Radboud University Nijmegen are situated
on one single campus named Heyendaal, which is situated within the city of Nijmegen.
Here, our department is situated in the Huygens building of the
faculty of Science at the second floor.

Plane
If you come to the Netherlands by air, you can take a train from Schiphol Airport to Duivendrecht (there is a train every thirty minutes), where you change trains. There are direct trains to Nijmegen Central Station every thirty minutes. The journey will take an hour and a half in total.
Public transport
The easiest way to visit the campus is via its own train station ("Nijmegen Heyendaal"). Twice every hour trains come from or leave to the main train station of Nijmegen (station "Nijmegen"). Take a look here for time tables.
Next to the central train station is the central bus station. Many busses leaving from here stop at the university campus, including city busses (lines 3, 6, 8, 9) as well as regional busses (lines 83, 90, 91, 92). If you are taking a city bus, make sure you've got the right one as each line has two different routes!
Busses leaving from other cities almost always pass the university (from Venlo: line 83, from Druten: line 79, from Den Bosch: line 90, from Venlo: line 92, from Arnhem: interliner 412).
An alternative to the bus is the so-called train taxi. At the station you can purchase a ticket from the ticket counter or the ticket machine. It costs € 3.80. When you leave the station you will find the train taxi stand on your right. If there is no train taxi waiting, you can press a button and one will arrive within 10 minutes. There may be more passengers in the taxi; due to the discounted fare, taxi drivers wait 10 minutes for any other passengers going in the same direction.
Car
Reaching the campus by car is relatively easy: at each road leading into Nijmegen there are road signs pointing to the campus and/or its academic hospital.
- From Utrecht (A12) or Rotterdam (A15): At the Valburg junction take the A15 (exit Kleve/Bemmel) to Nijmegen-Centrum. Don't follow direction "Nijmegen", this is a detour (A73 towards the south of Nijmegen). About 500 meter after the Waal-bridge, driving on streets called "Canisiusingel" and "Oranjesingel", take a left turn at the first traffic light, towards `Universiteit' (University). Riding about 1 kilometer right along (Prins Bernhardstraat, Coehoornstraat, Heijendaalseweg), one arrives at the railway-bridge. After the bridge the Faculty of Science (`B-Faculteit') is about 200 meter further, on the left side of the road. The rest of the University can be found on the other side of the road.
- Coming from 's-Hertogenbosch (A50): Take the exit Wijchen/Nijmegen towards Nijmegen-Centrum. Follow directions for Nijmegen-Centrum (straight along the Graafseweg) until you arrive in the center of Nijmegen at a roundabout (the `Keizer Karel-plein') with exits `Malden,Groesbeek,Venlo / Arnhem,Kleve / Centrum / Weurt,Beuningen / Station / Grave,'s-Hertogenbosch'. Take the second exit, towards Arnhem, driving on the `Oranjesingel'. Take a right turn at the first traffic light, direction University (`Universiteit').
Paid parking:
As of 1 June 2004, paid parking is implemented on campus. All car parks are equipped with barriers and point-of-pay terminals. Regular parking costs € 0.80 per hour and has a maximum of € 4 per day.
Bicycle
The best way to move around the city is by bike, as most people here do. In the city you will often find that going by bike is just as fast as going by car. Besides of that, there are very good facilities for bicycles and riding one. Dutch car drivers respect the rights of a cycler, making moving about on a bike a lot safer than in other countries.
